What is Loviisan saaristo fisheries region? 

Fisheries regions are public corporations established to develop and manage fisheries within their respective areas. They promote collaboration among their members – owners of water areas and nationwide fishing organizations – to ensure the sustainable management of fish stocks.

There are 118 fisheries regions in Finland. Loviisan Saaristo fisheries region covers the archipelago from Ahvenkoskenlahti in the east to the west coast of Sarvisalo. The fisheries region also includes the lower reaches of the rivers  Koskenkylänjoki and Tesjoki, as well as a few lakes. In the lakes and rivers, fishing is primarily recreational. At sea, both recreational and commercial fishing, along with aquaculture, are practiced.
